The TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 is set to return with its third edition, promising cricket fans an action-packed tournament filled with thrilling matches, intense rivalries, and unforgettable moments. Scheduled to run from February 14 to March 15, 2025, this tournament marks another milestone in the journey of women’s cricket.

Key Dates and Venues

The WPL 2025 will feature matches in four iconic cities across India: Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai. Each venue brings its unique charm and cricketing legacy to the league, creating a diverse and exciting experience for players and fans alike.

Vadodara: The newly built BCA Stadium will host the opening match and several high-stakes games.

Bengaluru: The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will be the home ground for RCB, with a lively atmosphere expected.

Lucknow: The Ekana Cricket Stadium makes its WPL debut, serving as UP Warriorz’s fortress.

Mumbai: The Cricket Club of India (CCI) will host the Eliminator and Final, ensuring a grand finish.

“The tournament will kick off on 14th February at the newly built BCA Stadium in Baroda, where the Gujarat Giants (GG) will square off against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a high-octane season opener. Baroda will host a total of six matches before the action shifts to Bengaluru, where RCB will play their first home game against the formidable Mumbai Indians (MI), champions of the first WPL edition, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on 21st February.” the WPL media advisory said.

Opening Match and Venues

Five powerhouse teams will battle for the coveted WPL trophy. The Mumbai Indians (MI), champions of the inaugural WPL edition, and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the defending champions with a strong squad, are among the top contenders. The Delhi Capitals (DC) are known for their consistency and star players, while the Gujarat Giants (GG) boast a mix of experience and young talent. Representing Lucknow, the UP Warriorz (UPW) have a strong home advantage.

The tournament kicks off on February 14, 2025, with defending champions RCB taking on Gujarat Giants (GG) at the state-of-the-art BCA Stadium in Vadodara. This clash sets the stage for an intense competition.

Vadodara will host six matches, including a much-anticipated showdown between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants. The vibrant cricketing culture of this city ensures an electric atmosphere. Bengaluru will serve as RCB’s fortress, hosting marquee matches against MI, DC, and UPW. The Chinnaswamy crowd will undoubtedly be the team’s twelfth player.
