Arshdeep Singh is on the verge of setting a major T20I record. The left-arm pacer has the opportunity to become the fastest bowler to reach 100 wickets in Men’s T20Is. Currently, Pakistan’s Haris Rauf holds the record, achieving the milestone in 71 T20Is during the Men’s T20 World Cup match against Canada in June 2024.
Arshdeep, 25, has taken 98 wickets in 62 matches at an economy rate of 8.27, including two four-wicket hauls. India is set to face England in the third T20I of their five-match series on Tuesday, January 28, at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. The pacer also has the chance to become the fourth-fastest to 100 wickets in Men’s T20Is.
Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is the fastest bowler to reach the milestone, achieving it in his 53rd T20I against Pakistan in October 2021. Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga are ranked second and third, respectively.
Arshdeep will also become the first Indian male cricketer to take 100 wickets in Men’s T20Is. In Women’s T20Is, the record is held by Deepti Sharma.

Arshdeep Singh excelling for India
In the first T20I against England at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Arshdeep Singh became India’s leading wicket-taker in Men’s T20Is, surpassing leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who has taken 96 wickets from 80 matches. Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are also in the 90-wicket club.
Arshdeep finished with figures of 4-0-17-2 in the match, contributing to India’s seven-wicket victory. Among Indian players, Deepti Sharma holds the record for the most wickets, with 138 dismissals from 124 T20Is.
