[WATCH]- Packed Cuttack Crowd Erupts As Kohli Walks Out Before 2nd IND vs ENG ODI 2025

A packed Barabati Stadium in Cuttack created a lively atmosphere during Team India’s training session ahead of the second ODI against England. The Indian players received enthusiastic cheers as they geared up for the match, but the loudest applause was reserved for Virat Kohli when he arrived for his net session.

Having missed the first ODI in Nagpur due to a knee injury, the star batter has recovered and is set to play in the upcoming game. His presence electrified the crowd, and he entertained them with his signature array of elegant strokes.

In a short clip shared by the BCCI, Kohli was seen confidently taking on the spinners, stepping out and attacking them with ease. You can watch the video here:

“We didn’t expect this. Came here into the dressing room and suddenly felt like we have lost track of days and forgot that it is a game day. That is how the energy and the vibe was. Just to have so many people come in even though it is just a practice session was something different,” KL Rahul said of the lively atmosphere in Cuttack in a video released by the BCCI.

Barabati Stadium is hosting its first international match since 2022. The last game at the venue was the second T20I between India and South Africa, where the visitors clinched a thrilling four-wicket victory. In terms of ODIs, the stadium last hosted one in 2019 during India’s home series against the West Indies.

Virat Kohli holds a modest ODI average of 29.50 at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium

The star batter has featured in four matches at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium, amassing 118 runs at an average of 29.50 and a strike rate of 104.42. His initial outings were underwhelming, with two single-digit scores in his first three games, but he bounced back with a brilliant 85 off 81 balls in the venue’s last ODI in 2019.

With the Champions Trophy 2025 approaching, Kohli will be eager to make the most of this crucial game time. However, he enters the series without strong recent form, having endured a disappointing Border-Gavaskar Trophy and a below-par outing in his Ranji Trophy return.
