[WATCH]- Team India Lands In Dubai For Champions Trophy Under New BCCI Guidelines

The Indian cricket team arrived in Dubai on Saturday night, marking the beginning of their highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy campaign. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the squad followed the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) updated travel regulations, staying together as a unit.

According to a TOI report, KL Rahul took a separate route from the airport to the hotel, while Rohit Sharma arrived slightly late for the team bus. You can watch the video here:

With the tournament set to be hosted across Dubai and Pakistan, India’s Group A fixtures will take place at the Dubai International Stadium. The competition will kick off in Pakistan on February 19.

Before departure, several key players were seen at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, including Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, and Varun Chakravarthy.

The squad was further bolstered by middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer, all-rounder Axar Patel, and fast bowlers Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh. Hardik Pandya was the last to board, completing India’s strong traveling contingent.

India confident for Champions Trophy Despite Bumrah’s absence

Although star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is unavailable due to a lower back injury, the team remains optimistic. Coming off a commanding 3-0 ODI series victory against England, India carries strong momentum into the tournament.

Fast-bowling all-rounder Harshit Rana has been named as the replacement, while wrist-spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has also been included in the squad, replacing Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was initially part of the provisional team. Jaiswal now joins Mohammed Siraj and Shivam Dube as one of the non-traveling substitutes.

India, a two-time Champions Trophy winner, will begin their campaign with a crucial clash against Bangladesh on February 20. However, the spotlight will be on their highly anticipated encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23—a fixture that never fails to captivate cricket fans worldwide.

The group stage will conclude with a decisive showdown against New Zealand on March 2, a match that could be pivotal in determining India’s journey to the knockout rounds.

India’s lineup for the ICC Champions Trophy: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill (v-c), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Rishabh Pant (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Washington Sundar, Mohammad Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakravarthy.
