India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant experienced severe pain during the team’s first practice session in Dubai ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian squad arrived in Dubai on Saturday, February 15, receiving a warm welcome with enthusiastic cheers.

Soon after their arrival, the team began their first training session, focusing on adapting to the hot and humid local conditions in Dubai ahead of the crucial tournament. During practice, Rishabh Pant suffered a sudden blow to his knee, leaving him in intense pain.

A widely circulated video captured the shocking moment he collapsed to the ground, prompting immediate attention from the team’s physio. Following the injury, Rishabh Pant was seen limping off the field with visible discomfort. You can watch the video here:

Indian fans will be hoping that the wicketkeeper’s injury isn’t serious and that he remains fit and available whenever the team needs him during the tournament. Pant has been named as the backup wicketkeeper in India‘s 15-member squad, with KL Rahul set to be the first-choice keeper, as confirmed by head coach Gautam Gambhir.
