The India National Cricket Team has begun its ICC Champions Trophy 2025 preparations in Dubai, with an intense three-hour practice session at the ICC Academy. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the team is preparing for their tournament opener against Bangladesh on February 20.
The practice had some interesting moments, but none as interesting as Virat Kohli apparently flouting the latest strict guidelines of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
The act raised eyebrows and curiosity amongst the observers. After all, Kohli did have reason to feel irked: some new guidelines recently rolled out by the BCCI were not very well received by most cricketers.
Preparations are in full swing, with team members working on polishing skills for the tournament. With the Bangladesh opener just around the corner, the Indian squad is making no stone unturned to ensure a smooth run for this campaign.

As reported by the Times of India, during his busy day, it was seen that Virat Kohli was preserving a little of his food for later. Apparently, the manager of the team returned with a food item from a famous restaurant in a paper bag, and Kohli was retaining a part of it. The other players of the Indian contingent were busy organizing their kit bags.
This incident comes in light of the recently imposed strict guidelines upon national players by the BCCI consequent to the team’s loss in Australia. One such guideline prohibits players from taking personal staff, be it a chef, security personnel, or assistants, unless special permission from the BCCI is granted. Kohli’s behavior suggests that he is probably finding ways to circumvent these new rules, at least as far as his dietary requirements go.
