Team India cricketers, including Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, and Rohit Sharma, enjoyed posing with their Champions Trophy jerseys. The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video of the moment, which concluded with captain Rohit stylishly declaring, “Let’s go, it’s game time.”

The Men in Blue appear in great form ahead of the eight-team tournament, having recently secured a 3-0 ODI series sweep against England in their home season. Placed in Group A alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, they are strong contenders to reach the semi-finals.

With this likely being Rohit’s final ICC tournament, he will be eager to finish on a high note, especially as captain, aiming to add another trophy to his cabinet after leading India to T20 World Cup glory last year.

Team India aim to surpass their performance in the 2017 Champions Trophy

In the 2017 edition, Team India, led by Virat Kohli, faced arch-rivals Pakistan in the final at The Oval in London. Despite Pakistan’s strong comeback after an opening-game loss, India entered the contest as favorites, having remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.

However, Sarfaraz Ahmed and his team dominated the final, securing a resounding 180-run victory to claim their first Champions Trophy title. Fakhar Zaman’s brilliant 114 set the tone, powering Pakistan to a formidable total of 338.

Defending a target of 339, Mohammad Amir and Junaid Khan bowled fiery spells to dismantle India’s in-form batting lineup. Despite Hardik Pandya’s blistering 76 off 43 balls, the Men in Blue endured a crushing defeat.

In the 2025 edition, India and Pakistan are set to clash on February 23 at the Dubai International Stadium. Although Pakistan is the designated host, Rohit Sharma and his team will play all their matches in Dubai.
