The former spinner of India, Ravichandran Ashwin, made a pointed comment at Pakistan’s one of the star batters, Babar Azam, for scoring his half-century at a snail’s pace against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy first match. Pakistan was hunting a mammoth target of 321 runs when they lost three wickets early and needed something monumental and quick from Babar himself.
But Babar’s slow performance not only went away from the target needed, but Ashwin’s comment clearly states that Babar doesn’t seem to do well with the speed that suits the situation, and Pakistan is paying for it. This inning offered a surprise to many considering that he is one of the most aggressive batters on the cricket field.
Babar’s slow fifty has demanded an explanation of his game, and now Ashwin’s comment will pour more fuel to the fire. The Pakistani team would hope to lift this gloomy bag and expect Babar to perform a leadership role with a bit more aggressive intention.

In the game against New Zealand in the Pakistan Champions Trophy opener, Ravichandran Ashwin mildly took a jab at Babar Azam for his slow fifty. Continuing to pursue 321, Pakistan, in spite of getting a blistering 69 off Khuashdil Shah, succumbed to lose this match by 60 runs. With the next match against India, this loss has jeopardized Pakistan’s hope in the tournament.

Pakistan’s Khushdil Shah struggled to score a 69 off 49 balls, resulting in a 60-run loss to New Zealand in the Champions Trophy. This was New Zealand’s fourth consecutive win over Pakistan, maintaining their unbeaten record. Pakistan’s position in the tournament is uncertain, with their next game against India potentially turning into a virtual knockout.
