Chennai Super Kings (CSK) officially welcomed veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to their team camp ahead of IPL 2025 with a touching video on social media on Thursday, February 27. This marks a nostalgic return for the former Indian cricketer, who began his IPL journey with CSK in 2009.
Ashwin was part of the Chennai-based franchise until 2015, playing 97 matches and claiming 90 wickets at an average of 24.22 and an economy rate of 6.46, with his best figures being 3/16. After leaving CSK, he went on to represent Rising Pune Supergiant, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals.
A decade later, Ravichandran Ashwin has rejoined CSK after the franchise secured him for a whopping INR 9.75 crore at the mega auction last December. On Thursday, CSK took to social media to share a heartwarming reel, building excitement among fans for Ashwin’s much-anticipated return. The post was captioned:
“🤴 Ashwin 🏡 Anbuden 💛 Yellove. Homecoming On Time… Oh the feels 🥹✨“
