Virat Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 23 fifty-plus scores in ICC ODI events by registering his 24th fifty-plus score in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final against Australia.

Milestone of 8000+ Runs in ODI Run-Chases

Kohli surpassed the 8000-run mark in ODI run-chases, becoming only the second player in history to do so. He achieved this feat in just 159 innings, highlighting his ability as a world-class chaser. Sachin Tendulkar tops the charts for the most runs in chases, with an impressive 8,720 runs in 232 innings.

Rohit Sharma follows in third place with 6,115 runs. Virat Kohli has set a new record as the fastest to reach 8,000 runs in run-chases, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar by a significant margin.

Most runs for India in the Champions Trophy

During the course of his innings against Australia, Virat Kohli also surpassed Shikhar Dhawan in having the most runs for India in the Champions Trophy. Chris Gayle is the leading run-scorer in the Champions Trophy with 791 runs.
