Pat Cummins, an Aussie World Cup winning captain is leading the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) yet again in 2025. SRH had a successful campaign in the 2024 season where Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head gave the team an aggressive start in most of matches they played together. Sharma has already made his T20i debut for India, and is now back in the SRH camp ahead of the 2025 IPL (Indian Premier League) season. Sharma’s six hitting capabilities are too good and he goes neck to neck with Travis Head when it comes to giving explosive starts to the team.

Star Sports recently released a short teaser video in which the host was asking Pat Cummins to name the superstar in the team. Without much thought, he uttered Abhishek Sharma’s name.
The same question was also asked to Heinrich Klaasen and he also said Abhishek Sharma is the superstar in the team. For those who have followed the batting style and consistency of Sharma, they would agree with the answer from Cummins and Klaasen.
Abhishek Sharma is all set to open for SRH again in the upcoming IPL 2025. He has already joined the camp and has started practicing. IPL 2025 starts from March 22, 2025. The first match of SRH is on March 23, 2025, against Rajasthan Royals and the match will take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. Pat Cummins has an important season ahead of him, as he could potentially take SRH to one more trophy. SRH played the final of the IPL 2024.
While Sharma was bought by Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2018, he had played only three games during that season averaging 63. But his career graph took off when he had an excellent 2024 IPL season where he played 16 matches and scored a total of 484 runs at a strike rate of 204. Sharma is definitely a player to look out for in the upcoming IPL season and it will be interesting to see how the other teams form a strategy to stop him early.
