[WATCH]- Harshit Rana Returns To India After Champions Trophy Triumph

Following India’s triumphant ICC Champions Trophy campaign, key squad members received a warm welcome upon their return on Monday. Fast bowler Harshit Rana, who landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport from Dubai, shared his emotions on the historic victory.

“I was truly delighted,” Harshit Rana told ANI while reflecting on India’s victory. India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, also arrived in Delhi after leading the team to the prestigious title. Indian captain Rohit Sharma, along with his family, arrived in Mumbai at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

The experienced opener played a key role in guiding India to another ICC title. Rohit was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance in the final. He scored a brilliant 76 off 83 deliveries, featuring seven boundaries and three sixes.

Earlier, New Zealand had won the toss and chosen to bat first. New Zealand started well with a 57-run opening partnership between Will Young (15) and Rachin Ravindra, who scored a quick 37 off 29 balls, hitting four boundaries and a six.

However, Kuldeep Yadav (2/40) halted their momentum, reducing them to 75/3. Daryl Mitchell (63 off 101 balls, with three fours) and Michael Bracewell then stitched together another 57-run stand, helping New Zealand cross the 150-run mark.

Bracewell’s unbeaten 53 off 40 balls, including three fours and two sixes, helped New Zealand post 251/7 in 50 overs. Kuldeep Yadav (2/40) and Varun Chakaravarthy (2/45) were India’s top bowlers, while Mohammed Shami took a wicket but was expensive, conceding 74 runs in nine overs.

Gautam Gambhir Gets Grand Welcome at Delhi Airport After Champions Trophy Win

India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir returned to Delhi on March 10 after guiding the team to an unbeaten 2025 Champions Trophy triumph. After dominant group-stage wins over Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand, India defeated Australia in the semi-final.

In the final, New Zealand set a target of 251 after opting to bat. Rohit Sharma led the chase with a crucial 76, supported by key middle-order contributions, as India secured victory with four wickets in hand and an over to spare.

This was India’s third Champions Trophy win and the first under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and Gautam Gambhir’s coaching. Gambhir received a grand welcome upon his arrival in Delhi. You can watch the video here:
