[WATCH] Ashutosh Sharma Video Calls Shikhar Dhawan After Match-winning Fifty

Ashutosh Sharma, a Delhi Capitals batsman, played a match-winning knock on Monday night. Delhi Capitals (DC) was playing against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Delhi was able to secure a win despite losing quick wickets early on in the chase. Delhi had to chase 210, and when things were looking impossible, Ashutosh Sharma changed gears and took his too over the finish line.

Ashutosh Sharma’s Video Call with Dhawan

Ashutosh Sharma was seen talking to Shikhar Dhawan after playing the match winning knock against DC. Sharma has called Dhawan his mentor, and Dhawan congratulated the batsman on his performance. Look at the video below.

Ashutosh scored 66 off 31 Deliveries

Ashutosh Sharma had a very slow start. He had scored only 20 from the first 20 balls. But in the next 11 deliveries, Sharma scoored 46 runs and helped DC secure a win against the Giants.

Ashutosh’s innings will certainly go down in the IPL (Indian Premier League) as one of the best while chasing. This gives DC a great start into the tournament and also solidifies Ashutosh Sharma’s playing style. There was a point where no one believed that DC could win, but then Sharma’s magical innings changed everything. Sunil Gavaskar, the former Indian cricketing legend, had a few words to say about Ashutosh Sharma’s innings.

Sunil Gavaskar’s Comments on this Innings

Sunil Gavaskar said that this innings from Sharma will be remembered for a long, long time.

“This innings will be remembered for a long, long time—not just because of the quality of stroke play, but because of the high-pressure situation,” said Gavaskar on the post-match conversation on JioHotstar.

Ashutosh Sharma was sold for Rs 3.8 crore to the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 auction after Punjab Kings (PBKS) decided not to retain the player. PBKS would certainly be regretting its decision to let go of such a powerful hitter after watching DC vs LSG last night.
