[WATCH]- Mohammed Siraj Celebrates GT’s Win Over RCB With Cake-Cutting Ceremony

Gujarat Titans (GT) fast bowler Mohammed Siraj celebrated with his teammates at the team hotel, marking their emphatic victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 14th match of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) with a cake-cutting ceremony. The match took place on Wednesday, April 2, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

Batting first, RCB struggled as their top four—Phil Salt (14), Virat Kohli (7), Devdutt Padikkal (4), and Rajat Patidar (12)—fell cheaply. However, Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone stabilized the innings with a 52-run stand off 38 balls. Jitesh scored 33 off 21, while Livingstone hit 54 off 40, including one four and five sixes.

Tim David’s quick 32 off 18 balls helped RCB reach 169/8, while Mohammed Siraj starred for GT with three wickets. In reply, GT lost Shubman Gill early, but a 75-run stand between Sai Sudharsan (49) and Jos Buttler (73*) set up a comfortable chase. Sherfane Rutherford’s 30* sealed an eight-wicket win with 13 balls to spare.

Post-match, GT celebrated at the hotel, with Siraj cutting a cake with his teammates. You can watch the video here:

“Felt emotional, but settled once I had the ball” – Mohammed Siraj on facing RCB in IPL 2025

Mohammed Siraj spent seven years (2018-2024) with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) before being released ahead of the 2025 mega-auction. Gujarat Titans (GT) acquired him for INR 12.25 crore, and on April 2, he faced his former team.

Siraj put in a match-winning performance, claiming three wickets for just 19 runs in his four-over spell. Speaking at the post-match presentation, the pacer admitted to feeling emotional and stated [as quoted by Cricbuzz]:

“I was a bit emotional. I was here for seven years, changed the jersey from red to blue, and was emotional, but once I got the ball, I was fine. I am Ronaldo’s fan and hence the celebration. I had been playing consistently, but during the break, I corrected my mistakes and worked on my fitness.”

“Once I was picked up by Gujarat Titans, I spoke to Ashish Bhai. He (Nehra) tells me to go enjoy your bowling, and Ishu (Ishant) Bhai tells me what line and length to bowl. My mindset is to have belief, and then the pitch does not matter,” he added.
