Kieron Pollard, the batting coach for Mumbai Indians, remained resolute in his support of Rohit Sharma despite a poor start to IPL 2025 for the latter. Rohit, who played a big role in India’s Champions Trophy victory, has been having trouble in the IPL, scoring only 21 runs from 3 matches with an average of 7 and a strike rate of 105.
Speaking at the pre-match conference, Pollard called Rohit a legend of the game and added that the Indian opener is having an off moment, which he could afford to have in an otherwise decorated career. Pollard is sure Rohit will bounce back to present a fine impact in this tournament.
Pollard’s endorsement is a declaration of faith in class and in the ability to execute when under pressure. With Pollard behind him, Rohit will be hoping to turn around his form and lead the Mumbai Indians to glory this IPL 2025 season.

The MI batting coach was heard saying that Rohit is doing everything right as an individual and advised not to write him off from one of few low scores. Pollard said, “In cricket, a player fails more than he succeeds.” He claimed that people will start singing praises for Rohit once he scores big.
“Personally, I’ve played alongside Rohit since U-19 cricket, and he has fought his way and etched his name in history and in the record books in different situations and different formats of the game,” Kieron Pollard said.
“He’s a legend of the game in his own right. And as an individual as well, there are times when you have a couple of low scores. He is doing the right things as well as an individual who now enjoys cricket and does not get pressured in certain situations,” Kieron Pollard added.
Mumbai Indians will meet LSG on Friday, April 4.
