RR team manager Romi Bhinder shared details of the conversation between Vaibhav Suryavanshi, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli after Vaibhav’s remarkable hundred against GT on April 28. Vaibhav’s knock, which took just 35 balls, became the second-fastest century in IPL history.
Vaibhav’s innings helped RR secure a thrilling win over GT, keeping their playoff hopes alive. In an exclusive interview with Sports Today, Bhinder, who previously worked with Dhoni, revealed that the CSK legend met the 14-year-old during the Guwahati match earlier this season.
Bhinder noted the similarities between Vaibhav and Dhoni, with the CSK icon praising the youngster for his mature shot selection. Dhoni even remarked that RR had found a ‘baby’ player, impressed by the way Vaibhav played like a seasoned professional.
“Yes, he met Dhoni the last game we played in Guwahati. So he met Mahi. He will again meet him in our reverse fixture against CSK. But I can see similar traits in both men. Both are calm and cool, but still play aggressive cricketing shots. So there are a few similarities.”
“MS Dhoni also praised him a lot, he said ‘ok, you got the baby in your team. The baby is showing the great shots like a matured player,” said Bhinder.
Kohli Offers Tips to Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Bhinder also mentioned that Vaibhav Suryavanshi had a conversation with Kohli, during which the RCB star offered some valuable advice. The RR team manager shared that Kohli emphasized the importance of staying grounded and humble.
“Vaibhav likes Virat Kohli a lot. They met and shared a couple of tips. Virat also told him that how to be grounded and how to stay humble and work hard,” said Bhinder.
Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) next match is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, 2025, against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
