Rajasthan Royals (RR) welcomed Jackson Warne, son of the late Shane Warne, to their camp during the IPL 2025 season. Shane Warne, the legendary Australian cricketer and RR’s first-ever captain, had guided the team to its historic IPL title in the inaugural 2008 season.
Jackson was spotted engaging with the team’s current batting coach, Vikram Rathour, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Reflecting on the moment, Jackson shared that it felt deeply special to return after 15 years.
“Thank you for having me here. Feels very good. Feels special being back here. I haven’t been here since the 2011 season, when it was dad’s last year. So about 15 years,” he said.
Rajasthan Royals have also dedicated a stand to their former captain, named the ‘Shane Warne Gallery.’ Jackson described it as both “cool” and “special.”
“It was cool sort of looking at our tickets and it saying Shane Warne gallery on the ticket. Very special,” he added.

Shane Warne’s journey in the IPL with Rajasthan Royals
Shane Warne featured in the IPL for four consecutive seasons from 2008 to 2011, representing Rajasthan Royals throughout. He captained the team in each of those seasons and famously led them to their maiden IPL title in 2008, making RR the league’s first-ever champions.
Across his IPL career with Rajasthan, Warne played 55 matches, claiming 57 wickets at an average of 25.38 and an economy rate of 7.27. Beyond his on-field performance, he played a pivotal leadership role, helping to shape the team and nurture emerging talents such as Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane.
During his time with the franchise, Shane Warne led Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 56 matches, securing 31 victories. He held the record as the team’s most successful captain until recently, when Sanju Samson surpassed him with 32 wins from 62 matches.
