However, the UAE team has now astounded the world with their unthinkable move in the Women’s T20 WC Asia Qualifier 2025 by retiring out all their batters.
UAE Women took the first time at bat and they pounded out 192 runs in 16 overs without a wicket lost, and that was all UAE Women would have, because they would never again face the CWI Women’s comeback. The UAE declared their innings with rain forecast at Bangkok, the venue of the game.
There are no declarations in the T20Is so UAE decided to retire out all their batters by calling them out in the field. It was a move unheard of in the history of the game and UAE captain and management would have to be praised for a bold and intelligent move. Esha Rohit Oza for UAE Women made an unbeaten century, 113 off 55 balls. The other opener, Theertha Satish, was 74 from 42 balls.
UAE’s Dominant Performance
The colossal total was far too much for Qatar, who were dismissed for 29. Michelle Botha picked three wickets and Katie Thompson two wickets as UAE Women almost crushed Qatar Women to a huge win of 163 runs. It was a clinical finishing done by the UAE team; they are very good batsmen and good bowlers too.
This victory was the second one for the UAE after the two rather consecutive games, and currently they topped Group B with Malaysia Women and Qatar Women in it. The dominant performances by the UAE have given them heavy contenders in the tournament.
With three teams in the Women’s T20 WC Asia Qualifier 2025, UAE’s 2 wins look very impressive, and they appear to be the best side at the event to date. Their efforts to stereotype based on each region have paid off, and they will strive to maintain their supremacy in the upcoming rounds to come. The UAE performance is undoubtedly a team to look out for in the tournament.
