England have appointed former national team player Jonathan Trott as the batting coach for the Pakistan series. The 39-year old last made an appearance for the Test side in 2015. Trott carries a whole load of batting experience with him which will come in handy for the youngsters.
He’s scored 3835 runs in 52 Tests with a healthy average of 44. Trott will be accompanied by Jeetan Patel and Graeme Welch in the coaching setup as per reports in BBC. Jonathan Trott represented the Warwickshire and has scored over 18000 for the county in the County Championship.

Other than being a star batsmen for England. he occasionally bowled medium pace when needed. He’s 5 test wickets to his name. For close to 5-6 years, Jonathan Trott has been the backbone of the England Test side, batting in the middle order.
Earlier in 2009, Trott was given chance by the ECB to prove his coaching credentials. He coached the England Lions squad along with Marcus Trescothick. By the looks of it, it seems like the England and Wales Cricket Board was impressed by Trott. As a result, they have handed him this opportunity in a series against Pakistan.
Pakistan and England are all set to play 3 Tests and 3 T20s starting 5th August. The Misbah Ul Haq coached side has been in England since last one month in the biosecure environment. Earlier this week Pakistan named the 20 man squad that would face England in the 3 tests. The series starts at Old Trafford in Manchester which will be followed by two tests at Southampton.
