Rohit Sharma Finishes As MI’s Second-Highest Run-Scorer In IPL 2025
Mumbai Indians had a strong IPL 2025 campaign despite a shaky start. After losing four of their first five matches, they bounced back impressively with a six-game winning streak, ultimately securing a fourth-place finish in the league stage to qualify for the playoffs.
In the Eliminator, MI defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) to advance further, but their journey ended in the second qualifier with a loss to Punjab Kings (PBKS). Even though they fell short of reaching the final, their performance reflected resilience and quality, making it to the virtual semi-finals.
Rohit Sharma, one of MI’s seasoned players, played a crucial role with the bat. While he had a slow start—much like the team—he found form as the season progressed and played a key part in their resurgence.
He finished as Mumbai Indians’ second-highest run-scorer, just behind Suryakumar Yadav, who amassed 717 runs. Rohit scored 418 runs in 15 matches at an average of 29.85 and a strike rate of 149.28, hitting four fifties. His best performance, an 81-run knock, came in the Eliminator against GT.
