It is possible that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) from the Indian Premier League (IPL) could be handed over to a new ownership a week after they win the 2025 title. According to those in the know, Diageo Plc, the brand’s current owner, is looking at possibilities to sell part or all of Royal Challengers Bangalore. The surge in the brand’s success happened after the team won the championship, bringing a title after almost two decades.

RCB’s New Chapter?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), which United Spirits Ltd. operates in India for Diageo Plc, is said to be having discussions with potential investors already. Even though the actual value isn’t public, Bloomberg supposes that the franchise could be valued at USD 2 billion (about INR 16,834 crores). Because of the news, many people are interested, as Diageo Plc is considering how to sell the IPL title and capitalize on its latest success.

It is reported that the British company wants to talk with potential advisors who will manage the deal. When the news about RCB’s sale was announced, United Spirits’ shares went up and prices rose by as much as 3.3% in the morning. Still, no decision has been made about the future of the franchise at this stage.

Even though Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans were excited by their team’s title win, the incident at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru led to the death of 11 people. The event completely killed the excitement that everyone felt after the team won.
