Ahead of the upcoming Test series against England, a few Indian players were spotted in a light-hearted yet animated exchange with fielding coach T Dilip during a training session. With the five-match series set to begin on June 20 at Headingley, Leeds, the Indian squad has already arrived and begun preparations.

Players like Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, and Ravindra Jadeja were seen engaging in the playful argument while taking part in fielding drills, dressed in their new training kits. You can watch the video here:

Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir, who had briefly returned to India due to a family emergency, has rejoined the squad and is visible on the field during the training session in the same video.

The upcoming series against England marks the start of a new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle for India (2025–2027). After failing to reach the final of the previous edition—won by South Africa against Australia—India will be eager to bounce back. They had reached the finals in both 2021 and 2023 but fell short on both occasions.

India’s failure to qualify this time was due to key series losses to New Zealand at home and Australia away. With Shubman Gill taking over as Test captain and senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and R. Ashwin unavailable, this series poses a tough test for a relatively young Indian squad.

It also marks an important phase for head coach Gautam Gambhir, following disappointing results in the last cycle. A series win in England would not only boost morale but also signal a strong start to a new era of Indian Test cricket.
