In his most recent cricket outing, Rohit Sharma featured in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), representing Mumbai Indians (MI) under the leadership of Hardik Pandya. He played 15 matches, amassing 418 runs at an average of 29.85 and a striking rate of 149.28.

The veteran opener notched up four fifties, with his top score of 81 coming against Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Eliminator. However, MI’s campaign concluded with a defeat to Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 2, prolonging their wait for a final appearance since their last in the 2020 season.

Rohit Sharma Likely To Make Comeback In August 2025

Rohit Sharma retired from T20 Internationals after captaining India to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup and stepped away from Test cricket in May 2025. Moving ahead, the 38-year-old will represent India exclusively in One Day Internationals (ODIs). India’s upcoming ODI assignment is a three-match series against Bangladesh, starting on August 17.

Since making his ODI debut in 2007, Rohit has featured in 273 matches, scoring 11,168 runs at an impressive average of 48.76 and a strike rate of 92.80. His stellar record includes 58 fifties and 32 centuries, with his highest score being a historic 264 against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in 2014.
