[WATCH] RCB Player Denied Access to Lord’s Despite Invitation; Dinesh Karthik Arrives to Help

Jitesh Sharma, who is currently India’s wicketkeeper-batter, was in an awkward position during the recent third Test at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground between England and India. A security officer refused to admit him into the venue as he did not recognize him. A fan captured the incident, which has gone viral on social media. Jitesh was detained at the front doors; even after explaining to the guards who he was, he was forced to wait for help.

It became even worse when the fans started to identify Jitesh, despite his efforts to get in. Fortunately, ex-Indian cricket player Dinesh Karthik, who is a commentator by the way, came to his rescue and guided him out of the mess.

But later, Dinesh Karthik admitted that the incident happened outside the commentary room and not at the ground entrance. Karthik called Jitesh and asked him to come and meet him and the other commentators, which made him help him to access the commentary box.

“These are some issues with social media that a lot face I invited Jitesh to the comm box, he had come, and I came and met him down and took him to the comm box and he met everyone there Btw this is below the media center, not the entrance to the ground,” Karthik wrote on X.

Recently, Jitesh has been turning heads in terms of his performances in cricket. He made his debut in T20I in the 2023 Asian Games and represented India in nine matches. The wicketkeeper-batter has also confirmed his move from Vidarbha to Baroda before the next season, which might be impacted by his friendship with Krunal Pandya.
