Attempted Murder Allegation Leveled Against Mohammad Shami’s Estranged Wife: Reports

Team India cricketer Mohammad Shami’s estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, has reportedly been booked for attempted murder in Suri town, Birbhum district, West Bengal. The case stems from a physical altercation with her neighbor, Dalia Khatun. Hasin’s daughter from a previous marriage, Arshi Jahan, has also been named in the FIR.

A video of the incident, showing Hasin involved in a violent clash with the neighbor, has gone viral on social media. As per the NCMIndia Council for Men Affairs, the FIR has been filed under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 126(2), 115(2), 117(2), 109, 351(3), and 3(5).

The report suggests that the altercation began when Hasin Jahan initiated construction on a contested piece of land. A video of the incident can be seen here:

Hasin and Shami married on June 6, 2014, and had a daughter, Aaira, in 2015. Their relationship soured in 2018 after Hasin accused Shami and his family of domestic violence. Recently, the Calcutta High Court ordered Shami to pay ₹4 lakh monthly alimony, though Hasin had demanded ₹10 lakh.
