Harshit Rana, known for his fiery nature on the field, once again grabbed attention for his aggressive send-off. In IPL 2024, a similar incident had earned him a one-match suspension after breaching the Code of Conduct during a Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Capitals game.
This time, during a Delhi Premier League (DPL) clash between North Delhi Strikers and West Delhi Lions, Rana, captain of the North Delhi Strikers, was fined for his actions. While defending a total of 165, Rana dismissed Ayush Doseja in the third over and appeared to tell him to “go away.”
The moment did not go unnoticed, and he was fined 10% of his match fees for breaching the DPL Code of Conduct.
“Harshit Rana admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.5 (Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in the Match) and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction,” the DPL stated.
In the same match, Yajas Sharma from North Delhi Strikers and Krish Yadav from West Delhi Lions were fined 20% of their match fees.

North Delhi Strikers’ Batting Performance
Opting to bat first at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, North Delhi Strikers posted a competitive 165/9 in 20 overs. The innings was anchored by opener Sarthak Ranjan, who scored 42 off 33 balls, and Arjun Rapria, who played a brisk knock of 40 from 22 balls, hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes.
Yajas Sharma contributed 23 off 15, while Yash Bhatia scored a steady 22 from 17. Although partnerships helped keep the scoreboard moving, frequent wickets prevented them from posting a bigger total. For the West Delhi Lions, Mayank Gusain was exceptional, taking 3 wickets for just 2 runs in a single over, causing major damage to the batting side’s momentum.
West Delhi Lions’ Chase and Result
Chasing 166, West Delhi Lions got off to a poor start, losing two wickets for just 13 runs, thanks to early breakthroughs from Vikas Dixit and captain Harshit Rana. Wicketkeeper-batter Krish Yadav made 23 off 23 balls to steady the innings, but the required run rate kept increasing. The fightback came from Hrithik Shokeen, who played a sensational counter-attacking knock of 51 off 24 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes, adding 49 runs in just 19 balls.
However, Deepanshu Gulia’s three crucial wickets in the middle overs and Rana’s tight last over halted the Lions’ progress. They eventually fell short, finishing at 154/8 in their 20 overs, giving the North Delhi Strikers an 11-run win in match number 19 of DPL Season 2.
