Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s wife, Prithi Narayanan, shared an emotional note on Wednesday, August 27, following the Tamil Nadu star’s announcement of his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the 2025 mega auction, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had welcomed Ashwin back after a nine-year gap, securing him for ₹9.75 crore.

The 38-year-old, however, struggled to leave a mark, taking just seven wickets in nine matches at an average of 40.42, a strike rate of 26.5, and an economy rate of 9.12. CSK, the five-time champions, also endured a disappointing campaign, finishing at the bottom of the points table.

As Ashwin closed this chapter of his IPL journey, Prithi Narayanan dedicated an Instagram story to him, writing:

“I love you! Can’t wait to see you do new things and scale new heights.”
