The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed Fantasy Sports Platform Dream11 as their title sponsors for IPL 2020. After a lot of dilemmas, BCCI put all speculations to rest announcing their association with Dream11. It is an Indian company based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, a lot of tension had cropped up since VIVO pulled themselves out of IPL 2020. Incidentally, the Chinese mobile making company were the title sponsors until 2023. However, owing to social media backlash in the aftermath of the tension between India-China, they pulled out of the deal of the 13th edition of the cash-rich league.

A lot of companies submitted their bid in the race before Dream11 winning the bid with Rs 222 crores on August 18. Dream11’s association with sports has grown over the years and it is presently partnering a total of 19 sports leagues along with 6 Indian Premier League Franchises.

Speaking on their association with IPL, chairman Brijesh Patel welcomed the fantasy platform on board. Patel believes it will add value to Dream11 and they are looking forward to delivering great value to the company.

“We welcome Dream11 on board as Title Sponsor for the 2020 edition of the IPL. Dream11 upgrading their association from an Official Partner to Title Sponsors is a great testament to the brand IPL,” Brijesh Patel said.

“Dream11 as a fantasy sports brand will only grow the engagement of the IPL with its fansAs a digital brand, it will give them leverage to create exciting online engagement for fans sitting at home and watching the matches. We look forward to delivering great value to Dream11,” he added. 

On the other hand, CEO and founder of Dream11, Harsh Jain said that the company was launched after IPL began in 2008. He also thanked BCCI for giving them the opportunity and feels Dream11 perfectly defines the idea of IPL.

The 13th edition of IPL will commence from September 19 and will run until November 10. All the members associated with the league will remain in a bio-secure bubble throughout the tournament due to COVID-19.
