[WATCH]- Jasprit Bumrah’s Brilliant Yorker Dismisses Sharafu In IND vs UAE Clash

India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah made a fiery return to T20Is during the Asia Cup 2025 clash against UAE in Dubai on Wednesday, September 10. He struck early, removing opener Alishan Sharafu with a perfectly executed yorker, giving India their first breakthrough with the score at 26/1.

Sharafu managed 22 runs off 17 deliveries, hitting a six and three fours before falling in the fifth over. Bumrah’s thunderbolt yorker proved too quick, as the batter reacted late and saw his off-stump knocked back. You can watch the video here:

For context, Jasprit Bumrah is featuring in his first T20I since the 2024 T20 World Cup. Prior to the ongoing match, the pacer had picked up 89 wickets in 69 innings.

“We never do things with logic”: Ex-India captain on Bumrah playing vs UAE

Former India skipper Ajay Jadeja opined that Jasprit Bumrah should have been given a rest for the clash against the UAE. The ex-cricketer, now a cricket analyst, argued that deploying the star pacer against a lower-ranked side was unnecessary. Speaking on Sony Sports Network (via DNA), he stated:

“What is the need to play Bumrah tomorrow, man? Usually, you keep him wrapped in cotton wool. Ab UAE ke against bhi tumhe Bumrah chahiye? (Now you need Bumrah even against the UAE?) Either don’t protect him at all, or if you need to preserve him, then do it in this type of match. Logic dictates that, but we never do things with logic.”

“The match is against the UAE. No disrespect because I have seen their captain, [Muhammad] Wasim, and the talent he possesses. You cannot rank any team, but this is a T20 World Cup-winning Team India. Hence, I am clear. If Bumrah plays tomorrow, I am going on strike,” he added.
