BCCI Announce Mega Cash Prize After India’s Historic Asia Cup Win

The BCCI has revealed that the Indian cricket team and its support staff will receive a massive prize money of Rs 21 crore for their unbeaten performance in the recently concluded Asia Cup. This announcement came following India’s thrilling five-wicket victory over Pakistan in the final held in Dubai on Sunday.

It was (an) extraordinary victory and therefore as a part of celebrations, BCCI has announced a cash award of Rs 21 crore in favour of the players and the support staff who are part of the Indian team in the Asia Cup,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told PTI. The Board, however, did not provide a detailed breakdown of how the fund will be allocated among the players and staff.

Recognition for Team and Support Staff

Saikia expressed pride in the team’s achievements and emphasized the significance of the reward. “That money will be distributed and this is a big reward for our team and the Indian cricket board as well as the people of India. We are extremely proud of our cricketers and the support staff for their superb performance in Dubai,” he added.

The announcement reflects the Board’s acknowledgment of the team’s consistent excellence and the crucial role played by the support staff in guiding the players through the high-pressure tournament. The gesture highlights the BCCI’s commitment to celebrating Indian cricket’s milestones with both players and their teams.

Social Media Celebrations and Unbeaten Streak

The BCCI also shared the victory celebrations on social media with a jubilant message. “Three blows. 0 response. Asia Cup Champions. Message delivered. (Rs) 21 crores prize money for the team and support staff,” the Board stated, celebrating India’s perfect record against Pakistan. Team India remained undefeated throughout the Asia Cup, winning all seven of their matches, showcasing dominance and resilience.

Board vice president Rajeev Shukla also lauded the team’s performance, stating, “The undefeated champions of ASIA. Congratulations Team India on a dominating win and 3-0 against Pak. Marvellous display by Tilak Verma and @imkuldeep18.
