Australia vs India

Rain threatened to ruin the second ODI between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval, so the ground staff utilized ultraviolet lights for drying the pitch and moisture control. The ultraviolet drying technology saw its use after the opening match of the series was severely affected by rain stops, resulting in the game being reduced to 26 overs per side, which was a comfortable win for Australia. The pitch was under covers because of the heavy clouds and intermittent rain, which raised the concerns about moistness and a slow outfield.

The UV lights were employed to dry the surface and thus the pitch was ready for the game. The match will take place as planned owing to the UV lights having created an even drier surface. The utilization of UV lights is an unusual but innovative method in the management of pitch conditions during heavy rains. The pitch is now well prepared for the match, as the UV lights have successfully dried the surface.

The rain-soaked predictions for the second ODI at Adelaide Oval, which is set for Thursday, made the personnel working at the ground turn on ultraviolet lights on Tuesday in order to manage and dry the moisture on the pitch. The heavy clouds over the place and rain coming and going forced the curators to keep the deck covered, which led to the worries about the moisture in the ground and a slow outfield delaying the process of preparation.

The first match in Perth had already challenged the situation with rain being the reason for several interruptions. India managed to score 136 for 9 in 26 overs, and the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method set Australia a target of 131, which they achieved with the loss of three wickets in just 21.1 overs.

In order not to present a wicket that was underprepared, the host organizers set up UV-drying lamps over the main areas of the playing surface, which reduced the moisture on the surface and ensured the pitch was ready for the important match. The series is now at a point where either team can take it, and they are all set for a full-length battle, weather permitting.
