Delhi Capitals has announced Ryan Harris as their bowling coach ahead of IPL 2020 season. The former Australian fast bowler replaced James Hopes, who was with the side for two years. The 40-year-old also previously held the position as bowling coach for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL. Harris will now join the Delhi Capitals in the UAE ahead of the upcoming IPL season which begins from September 19.
James Hopes, who was Delhi Capitals bowling coach for the last two seasons, will be inadequate to travel with the team this year owing to personal reasons. The Delhi Capitals franchise has already reached the host country and Harris is likely to join the team soon.

“I am delighted to be back in the IPL. This is a huge opportunity for me to contribute to the franchise’s ambitions of lifting the coveted IPL trophy”, Ryan Harris was quoted as saying in a press release.
“The Delhi Capitals side has an impressive bowling line up, and I can’t wait to start working with them all”, the new bowling coach of Delhi Capitals further added.

Meanwhile, the former Australia speedster represented his side in 27 Tests in which he picked 113 wickets. He also played 21 ODIs in which he picked 44 ODI, while he also played 3 T20Is in which he picked 4 wickets.
The former cricketer also had a brief IPL career as he played in 37 IPL matches and scalped 45 wickets at an average of 23.27. He was also part of the IPL winning Deccan Charges side when the league took place in South Africa in 2009.
Since then, the former seamer has commenced coaching assignments with the Australian team, Brisbane Heat, and Kings XI Punjab in the IPL. Harris will join the Delhi Capitals coaching staff comprising of Ricky Ponting, Mohammad Kaif, Samuel Badree & Vijay Dahiya.
