India’s Road To The Final And The Rain-Hit Showdown
Harmanpreet Kaur’s side entered the final after a thrilling semifinal victory against Australia, securing a five-wicket win on October 30. Their journey to the summit wasn’t easy — the team had recorded three wins, three losses, and one no-result in the group stage.
On the other hand, South Africa advanced after crushing England by 125 runs in their semifinal. Interestingly, the two finalists had met earlier in the tournament on October 9, where South Africa edged past India by three wickets. The much-anticipated final faced a two-hour delay due to persistent rain in Navi Mumbai, but fortunately, the game was played in full without any overs reduced.
