It was a thrilling night of cricket when Sudurpaschim Royals faced Pokhara Avengers in the Nepal Premier League match. The Royals were very aggressive and secured a total that was very good to be chased.

Pokhara players were really determined and fought back hard in their innings, but it was not good enough. They managed to make 175 runs with 8 wickets down and lost by 18 runs. The chase was really close and came down to the last overs, but the bowling of Sudurpaschim was just excellent.

Sudurpaschim Royals emphatically triumphed over the Pokhara Avengers by 18 runs at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. The Royals began their innings with 193 runs, an insurmountable total that they defended with great skill and confidence. Though Pokhara made a significant effort, they could only manage 175 runs, culminating in a nail-biting finish as the audience was kept on their toes until the last ball.

The upper order of Sudurpaschim simply couldn’t be contained. Josh Brown went wild and scored 68 runs in just 35 balls, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes that captivated the audience. His accomplice Bhandari was docile but effective with 43 runs, while Lynn and captain Dipendra Singh Airee also contributed some important runs. Conversely, James Neesham from Pokhara took 3 wickets but to no avail against the relentless batting.

During Pokhara’s innings, only three batsmen performed. The captain, Kushal Burtel, was a firecracker with 53 runs, while James Neesham was also roaring with 47 but the third player, Dan Douthwaite, with 37 couldn’t militate the cause. The bowling of the Royals was very well controlled—Harmeet Singh took 2 wickets and 6 bowlers took 1 each. The middle order of Pokhara was under pressure and lost wickets at regular intervals.

This masterly display of cricket earns Sudurpaschim the status of an undefeated team, having 4 points from two matches, while Pokhara is yet to taste victory.
