India’s Dhruv Jurel was dismissed for a duck as South Africa’s pacer Marco Jansen picked up a crucial wicket just before tea on Day 3 (Monday, November 24) of the second Test at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. The wicket fell on the third ball of the 36th over of India’s first innings.
Jansen delivered a short ball, which Jurel tried to pull but only managed to edge toward wide mid-on, where Keshav Maharaj took a sliding catch, earning Jansen his first scalp of the innings. You can watch the video here:

The right-handed batsman was out for a duck off 11 deliveries, leaving India struggling at 102/4 in 35.3 overs.
India Lose 4 Wickets As South Africa Take Control On Day 3 Morning
India started Day 3 of the second Test at 9/0 after 6.1 overs, with openers KL Rahul (2) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (7) at the crease. The pair began cautiously and added 65 runs together before Rahul fell for 22 to Keshav Maharaj, struggling against the disciplined South African attack.
Jaiswal reached a well-earned fifty but couldn’t build further, getting out to Simon Harmer for 58 off 97 balls, including seven fours and a six, leaving India needing stability in the middle order. Sai Sudharsan also struggled, departing for 15 off 40 balls, while Dhruv Jurel was dismissed for a duck off 11 deliveries.
At tea on Day 3, India were 102/4 in 36 overs, still trailing by 387 runs, with Rishabh Pant (6) and Ravindra Jadeja (0) at the crease, facing a challenging task to save the match. Earlier, after choosing to bat first, South Africa posted a formidable 489 in their opening innings.
Senuran Muthusamy scored a commanding century (109), supported by Marco Jansen’s 93, while several other batters contributed valuable runs. For India, Kuldeep Yadav led the bowling with four wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja picked up two wickets each, trying to restrict the visitors’ dominance.
