Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and her family have finally received some relief after her father, Srinivas Mandhana, was discharged from the hospital. Srinivas was admitted on Sunday following a sudden heart attack, prompting Smriti and her fiancé, music composer Palash Muchhal, to postpone their wedding that was scheduled for the same day.
According to an India TV report, doctors have confirmed that Srinivas is now stable and out of danger. An angiography revealed no blockages, further easing concerns for the family. Despite the improvement in his condition, the Mandhanas have not released any new date for the wedding ceremony or the pending celebrations.
Family Maintains Silence On New Wedding Plans
Since the medical emergency, both families have repeatedly stated that the wedding has been postponed indefinitely. Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, revealed that her father’s health deteriorated suddenly while he was having breakfast. After monitoring him briefly, the family rushed him to the hospital when his condition worsened. Mishra emphasised that Smriti is deeply attached to her father and is unwilling to proceed with the marriage until he fully recovers.
This clarity from the family, however, has not translated into a revised wedding schedule. Fans grew even more curious when Smriti deleted all photos and videos from her pre-wedding ceremonies on Instagram. Several teammates, including Jemimah Rodrigues, also reportedly removed pre-wedding content from their social media accounts. With no official communication from either family about the rescheduled date, speculation and rumours have spread widely across social media.
Palash Muchhal Also Hospitalised Amid Uncertainty
Adding to the confusion surrounding the postponed celebrations, the groom-to-be, Palash Muchhal, has reportedly been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. As per NDTV sources, Palash’s strenuous routine—constant travel for concerts, events, and wedding preparations—resulted in extreme exhaustion, leading to a health setback. He was transferred to SVR Hospital in Goregaon for treatment, though no detailed update on his recovery has been shared yet.
This unexpected development has further delayed clarity on when the wedding might take place. With both families choosing to remain quiet while focusing on health concerns, fans continue to wait for official confirmation about Smriti and Palash’s new wedding plan. For now, their priority remains the complete recovery of Smriti’s father and Palash before any festivities resume.
