[WATCH] Virat Kohli Smashes Brilliant Six Off Jansen In 2nd ODI vs South Africa 2025

Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli hit a spectacular six off a short delivery from Marco Jansen during the second ODI of the three-match series against South Africa. The match is taking place on Wednesday, December 3, at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

In the first ball of the 33rd over of India’s innings, Jansen bowled a 115.6 kph short ball. Kohli advanced down the pitch and expertly pulled it over long-on, using his wrists to send it soaring for a breathtaking six. You can watch the video here:

This marked Kohli’s second six of the match, with his first coming early in his innings when he dispatched Lungi Ngidi over backward square leg in the sixth over to get off the mark.

Kohli And Gaikwad Propel India To Commanding Position In 2nd ODI

After winning the toss and opting to bat, India’s openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal put on 40 runs before Rohit was dismissed for 14 off eight balls by Nandre Burger. Jaiswal fell soon after, scoring 22 off 38 balls, including two fours and a six. Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad then took charge, scoring freely and asserting dominance over the innings.

Gaikwad reached his fifty in 52 balls, while Virat Kohli achieved the milestone in just 47 balls, helping India reach 158/2 after 25 overs. The pair kept up the aggressive approach, with Gaikwad scoring his maiden ODI century off 77 balls in the 34th over with a boundary.

Gaikwad eventually finished on 105 off 83 balls, hitting 12 fours and two sixes, sharing a 195-run partnership with Kohli for the third wicket. At the time of reporting, India stood at 257/3 after 36 overs, with Kohli on 96 and KL Rahul yet to open his account.
