Sanju Samson has consistently impressed as an opener in T20 internationals. Despite performing well, he lost his spot at the top of the order after Shubman Gill returned for the Asia Cup 2025. In the ongoing series, the vice-captain managed only 32 runs across three innings at a strike rate of 103.22.
In contrast, Samson boasts an excellent record as an opener. He has scored 559 runs in 18 innings at the top, averaging 32.88 with a remarkable strike rate of 178.02.
