Team India batting stalwart Virat Kohli was seen departing from Mumbai International Airport en route to Bengaluru ahead of the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, which gets underway on December 24. The right-handed batter was dressed in a white shirt, black trousers and white sports shoes when he was photographed before entering the airport terminal.
Kohli is set to feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time since the 2009–10 season, with his previous appearance in the competition coming on February 18, 2010. Across 14 matches in the tournament, the former India captain has accumulated 819 runs at an impressive average of 68.25 and a strike rate of 106.08, including four hundreds and three half-centuries.
The veteran confirmed his availability to the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and has been included in Delhi’s squad for the opening two fixtures, alongside Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini and Ishant Sharma. A video capturing the star cricketer’s departure from Mumbai has also surfaced.

Virat Kohli Ranked Second In ICC ODI Batter Rankings
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has looked in sublime touch in the ODI format. Following a disappointing start to the Australia tour, where he was dismissed for two consecutive ducks, doubts were raised about his future. However, the veteran silenced critics in the series finale, remaining unbeaten on 74 as he, alongside Rohit Sharma, guided India to a comprehensive nine-wicket win.
The Delhi-born batter continued his rich vein of form in the home ODI series against South Africa, amassing 302 runs across three innings, highlighted by two centuries. His outstanding performances earned him the Player of the Series award, with India clinching the series 2–1.
Kohli will now aim to make a strong impact in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where Delhi are set to take on Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat on December 24 and 26, respectively. The right-hander’s next assignment for India will be the ODI series against New Zealand, scheduled to begin on January 11.
