Royal Challengers Bengaluru spinner Suyash Sharma was recently spotted playing competitive cricket at the grassroots level in West Bengal, showing his commitment to staying match-ready ahead of the upcoming IPL season. The 22-year-old featured in the quarterfinal match of the 25th SRMB Cup Knockout Cricket Tournament held in Malda, representing the local side Saat Sokal. His presence in the tournament attracted significant attention from cricket lovers in the region, many of whom gathered to watch the young leg-spinner in action.

In the 30-over quarterfinal clash against Agragami Sangha of Siliguri, Suyash delivered a solid bowling performance. He completed his full quota of six overs, conceding 43 runs and picking up two important wickets. With the bat, he also made a brief yet impactful contribution, remaining unbeaten on six runs from just three deliveries, including a clean six. Saat Sokal dominated the contest and secured a comprehensive 92-run victory, earning a place in the semifinal of the tournament.
After the match, several supporters approached Suyash Sharma, eager to interact with the IPL-winning player. A video circulating among fans showed him patiently signing a bat for a young admirer, underlining his popularity and down-to-earth nature despite his rise on the national stage.

Ipl Journey And Recent Domestic Success
Suyash Sharma’s connection with eastern India runs deep. He made his IPL debut in 2023 with Kolkata Knight Riders and went on to be part of their championship-winning squad in 2024. Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, he was picked up by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for ₹2.60 crore. The Bengaluru-based franchise went on to lift their maiden IPL title, defeating Punjab Kings in a closely fought final.
During the 2025 season, Suyash featured in 14 matches, claiming eight wickets while maintaining a respectable economy rate. His overall IPL record now stands at 18 wickets from 27 matches. Impressed by his consistency, RCB retained him for the 2026 season.
On the domestic front, Suyash also impressed in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy while playing for Delhi. He emerged as the team’s highest wicket-taker, collecting 11 wickets in seven matches at an impressive economy rate, even though Delhi narrowly missed qualification for the Super League stage.
