[WATCH]- Yashasvi Jaiswal Escapes Fan Chaos In Mumbai Amid IND vs NZ T20Is
Yashasvi Jaiswal on the Verge of Surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s Test Record

Team India’s rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal found himself swarmed by fans seeking selfies in Mumbai and had to dash away to escape the chaotic scene. As he exited a building, reportedly after attending a special screening of Border 2 with Ahan Shetty and KL Rahul, the youngster was surrounded from all sides, causing complete pandemonium.

Once outside, Yashasvi hurried to his car while fans continued to chase him, attempting to grab a selfie. The cricketer quickly got into the vehicle, managing to leave the potentially volatile situation safely. You can watch the video here:

In India, it’s unfortunately common for cricketers to be mobbed by fans, particularly when security is insufficient. Star players frequently face such situations at airports and stadiums, as devoted fans often push limits and cross personal boundaries.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Left Out Of India’s T20 Plans For NZ Series & 2026 World Cup

The opening batsman wrapped up 2025 on a high note, scoring his maiden ODI century in the third match against South Africa in Vizag, and followed it up with a couple of impressive performances for Mumbai in the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT).

Despite this form, he was overlooked by selectors for the T20I team, while fellow left-handed opener Ishan Kishan earned a recall. Yashasvi Jaiswal also had to make way in the ODI squad following Shubman Gill’s recovery from injury.

Jaiswal’s exclusion from India’s T20 plans means he will miss the upcoming series against New Zealand as well as the 2026 T20 World Cup, raising questions about the team management’s strategy in balancing in-form talent with experience.

The southpaw last represented Mumbai in the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy on January 6 and is expected to return to competitive cricket in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), having been retained by the Rajasthan Royals (RR).
