Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have roped in Zimbabwe speedster Blessing Muzarabani for IPL 2026. Meanwhile, Muzarabani has reportedly given up his PSL contract to play in the IPL. However, the Zimbabwean had gone unsold at the PSL auction last month, but he became a direct signing by Islamabad United as a replacement player for West Indies’ Shamar Joseph as well.

However, Blessing Muzarabani will return to India after recently finishing off a stunning World Cup campaign as well, where his team reached the Super Eights. In the six games he played in India and Sri Lanka, Muzarabani claimed 13 scalps – only Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravorty picked more (14 wickets each in 8 and 9 matches respectively) in the tournament as well.

The pace bowler has been an all-format bowler for Zimbabwe since his debut in 2017. In 89 T20Is, Muzarabani has picked up 106 wickets and an economy rate of 7.24 as well. However, Muzarabani has so far featured in the CPL, ILT20, PSL and even the Vitality Blast in England before as well.

Blessing Muzarabani had a great season

Notably, he was earlier a temporary replacement player for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru towards the closing stages of IPL 2025.

However, Blessing Muzarabani is slated to arrive in Kolkata on March 17 and join up with the squad as well. Meanwhile, earlier this year, KKR had to terminate Mustafizur Rahman’s contract after buying him for INR 9.20 Crore. On the other hand, KKR’s other fast bowling signing, Mathesha Pathirana, is still undergoing rehabilitation for the injury he sustained midway through the recently-concluded T20 World Cup as well.

However, KKR start their IPL 2026 campaign on March 29 against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.
