Star Indian opening batter Abhishek Sharma visited the holy Vaishno Devi Temple to seek blessings. This came after Team India’s victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which India and Sri Lanka hosted. Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India defeated New Zealand national cricket team in the final on Sunday, March 8, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, winning the match by 96 runs.
Abhishek also played an important role, scoring a quick 52 runs from just 21 balls with six fours and three sixes. He also took a wicket as India lifted their record third T20 World Cup title. After the win, on Friday, March 13, Abhishek shared photos on Instagram showing him offering prayers at the famous temple. He captioned the post:

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old is still the No. 1-ranked batter in T20Is, with 875 rating points. The left-handed batter has played 46 matches, scoring 1,438 runs at an average of 33.44 and a strike rate of 190.46. His record also includes 10 half-centuries and two centuries.

Abhishek Sharma is set to return to action in the Indian Premier League 2026, which will start later this month on March 28. The left-handed batter will play for Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the 2025 season, the team had a disappointing run. They failed to reach the playoffs and finished sixth on the points table with 13 points from 14 matches.
Abhishek scored 439 runs in 13 innings at an average of 33.76 and a strike rate of 193.39, including two half-centuries and one century. Overall in the IPL, Abhishek has played 77 matches and scored 1,816 runs in 74 innings. He has an average of 27.10 and a strike rate of 163.01, with nine fifties and one century. His highest score in the league is 141.
