They were captured exchanging warm hugs and cheerful smiles as the team gathered to officially kick off their IPL 2026 campaign.

The CSK Roar 2026 event

To celebrate its rich legacy, Chennai Super Kings invited former greats like Suresh Raina, Matthew Hayden, and Dwayne Bravo to interact with the current squad. The initiative honoured the franchise’s past while preparing one of its youngest-ever teams for the upcoming season.

Displaying their trophy collection, CSK underlined the standards they aim to uphold, particularly after missing the playoffs in four of the last six seasons. The addition of Sanju Samson signals a forward-looking approach, with MS Dhoni expected to gradually step back. The franchise appears to be laying the groundwork for a fresh era of competition.

The five-hour-long celebration turned into a grand spectacle, blending cricketing nostalgia with entertainment. Renowned singer A. R. Rahman delivered a special performance dedicated to Samson, while actor Sivakarthikeyan kept the crowd engaged throughout.

As part of the ceremony, Hayden and Raina were inducted into the CSK Hall of Fame. Dhoni also presented special honours to Samson, Shivam Dube, and emerging talent Ayush Mhatre. Fans enjoyed everything from practice sessions and football games to a display of the team’s trophies, celebrating CSK’s past and future.
