In Match 11 of the Indian Premier League 2026, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) delivered a statement performance at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, securing a comprehensive 43-run win over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 5 April 2026. On a night where the boundaries seemed too small for the local hitters, RCB posted a staggering 250/3, the highest total of the season thus far.

While CSK showed flashes of brilliance during their pursuit, the sheer magnitude of the target and a disciplined Bengaluru bowling attack ensured that the defending champions continued their winning momentum, handing CSK their third consecutive defeat. Sent in to bat, RCB’s foundation was built on steady contributions from the top order.

Phil Salt set the tone with a brisk 46 off 30 balls, while Devdutt Padikkal kept the scoreboard ticking with a well-made 50 off 29 balls. Despite Virat Kohli falling for 28, the platform was perfectly set for a late-innings explosion. What followed was a brutal display of power-hitting as captain Rajat Patidar (48 off 19 balls)* and Tim David decimated the CSK bowling attack.

David was particularly destructive, smashing an unbeaten 70 off just 25 balls, including 8 massive sixes. The duo added a breathtaking 99 runs in the final six overs, leaving the Chennai bowlers with no answers.

Sarfaraz Khan’s Fifty in Vain as RCB Bowlers Halt CSK Chase

CSK’s response was rocky from the outset, as Jacob Duffy struck early to remove Ruturaj Gaikwadand Sanju Samson, leaving the visitors reeling at 30/3. A valiant counter-attack from Sarfaraz Khan, who scored a gritty 50 off 25 balls, and Prashant Veer (43) briefly threatened to make the game competitive, but the mounting run rate eventually forced errors.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers, claiming his 200th IPL wicket during a superb spell of 3/41, while Abhinandan Singh and Krunal Pandya picked up two wickets each to tighten the screws. Despite a late cameo from Jamie Overton (37), CSK were eventually bowled out for 207 in the final over, sealing a memorable night for the home side and their fans.
