[WATCH] Rashid Khan Cleans Up Sameer Rizvi For A Golden Duck In DC vs GT Clash

Gujarat Titans spinner Rashid Khan got the in-form Delhi Capitals batter Sameer Rizvi out for a golden duck in their IPL 2026 match at Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 8. DC had to chase a big target of 210 runs after choosing to bowl first.

Delhi were in a good position at 97/1 after 9 overs, but Rashid changed the game with two quick wickets. First, he got Nitish Rana out on the second-last ball of the 10th over. Rana tried a big shot but mistimed it, and Sai Sudharsan caught it at long-off.

On the very next ball, Rashid struck again and dismissed Rizvi. He bowled a tricky googly that Rizvi couldn’t understand. The ball went between his bat and pad and hit the stumps, sending him back without scoring.

Sameer Rizvi came into this match in great form, after winning Player of the Match in his last two games. He scored an unbeaten 70 off 47 balls against Lucknow Super Giants and then made 90 off 51 against Mumbai Indians.

At the time of writing, Delhi Capitals were 134/4 in 14 overs, with KL Rahul batting strongly on 71* off 40 balls, while Axar Patel was on 2* off 3.

Rashid Khan settles old score with Sameer Rizvi in IPL clash.

Sameer Rizvi made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings in 2024, where he faced Rashid Khan for the first time. Even though it was his debut, Rizvi played without any fear against the experienced bowler.

He impressed everyone by hitting a six off the very first ball of his IPL career, sweeping it over deep square leg. In the same over, he smashed another six over long-off.

Overall, Rizvi scored 14 runs off just 6 balls against Rashid in that match. But when they faced each other again after two years in IPL 2026, this time Rashid got the better of him.
