PBKS IPL 2025 Full Player List: Punjab Kings Updated Squad With Complete Details

The Punjab Kings (PBKS) continued their impressive run in IPL 2026 by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a high-scoring encounter at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in Mullanpur. In a match defined by explosive opening stands and tactical shifts, PBKS successfully chased down a formidable target of 220 with seven balls to spare.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl, PBKS faced an immediate onslaught as SRH openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head delivered one of the most destructive powerplay performances in IPL history, racing to 105/0 within the first six overs.

Abhishek was particularly aggressive, smashing 74 off just 28 balls, including eight towering sixes, which set the foundation for a massive total. The momentum shifted significantly in the middle overs when Shashank Singh was introduced into the attack.

In a decisive turn of events, Shashank dismissed both Head (38) and Abhishek in the same over, effectively stalling the SRH scoring rate. Despite a steady 39 from Heinrich Klaasen, disciplined death bowling from Xavier Bartlett and Arshdeep Singh ensured SRH was restricted to 219/6.

Punjab Kings Explosive Opening Stand Puts SRH Under Pressure In Run Chase

While this was a challenging total, it appeared far more manageable than the 250+ score that seemed likely during the opening exchange. The Punjab Kings’ response was equally emphatic, led by a scintillating opening partnership.

Priyansh Arya played a standout knock of 57 off only 20 balls, reaching his half-century in just 16 deliveries to put the pressure back on the SRH bowlers. He was ably supported by Prabhsimran Singh, who provided excellent stability with a well-composed 51 off 25 balls.

Although Shivang Kumar momentarily brought SRH back into the game by claiming three quick wickets, captain Shreyas Iyer ensured there were no further setbacks. Iyer’s unbeaten 69 off 33 ballsguided the home side comfortably toward the target, finishing the game at 223/4 in 18.5 overs.

This victory marks the third win of the season for PBKS, solidifying their position near the top of the points table.
