Punjab Kings (PBKS) star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal once again showed his playful side during the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026. The leg-spinner jokingly requested an opening slot from the team’s co-owner Preity Zinta during a social media Q&A session.
Zinta responded in the same light-hearted spirit, saying she would consider his request, but only after the current season comes to an end. A few days after PBKS successfully chased down 265 against Delhi Capitals, Zinta took to X and wrote:
“Today seems like a perfect day for an impromptu #pzchat! Bring on the questions, folks.”
Chahal further replied:
“Mam ek match mein open batting karne ka chance mil jaaye toh (Ma’m, see if I can get an opportunity to open the innings.).”
Mam ek match mein open batting karne ka chance mil jaaye toh 🥹🤣🤣😁 #pzchat

Zinta further replied:
“For sure, Yuzi. Anything for you. IPL Khatam hone do, uske baad (let the IPL finish, and then we’ll do that) whichever match you like, I’m sure Prabh & Priyansh won’t mind then.”
For sure Yuzi ❤️ Anything for you. IPL Khatam hone do, uske baad whichever match you like 😂I’m sure Prabh & Priyansh won’t mind then 🤩😂 #Ting

“Calm & Inclusive”: Preity Zinta Hails Shreyas Iyer
Preity Zinta also praised PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer for his leadership, describing him as a smart, composed, and approachable strategist. She shared these thoughts in another post on X:
“He is an inspiring & strategic leader that leads by example. Intelligent, calm, inclusive & accessible to the whole team. On a fun note, he is also incredible with kids; that’s why my kids lovingly call him Shreyas Bhaiya and adore him.”

After leading PBKS to the IPL 2025 final, Shreyas Iyer has continued his fine form this season, guiding the team to six wins in seven matches, including a rain-hit game against Kolkata Knight Riders. They will aim to carry this momentum into their home clash against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday, April 28.
