Former India player turned commentator Aakash Chopra has questioned the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) team selection in their IPL 2026 match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He also added that arranging a strong squad is not beneficial if one cannot win games.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, ‘Aakash Chopra,’ he said, “Delhi, you had won two, and now you have lost two. What is the advantage of making a good team? Eventually, you need to win games. You have lost two games, and you should have won both. What is the advantage of playing so many bowlers? You are unable to get anyone to bowl their full quota of overs. You couldn’t get either Kuldeep Yadav or Auqib Nabi to bowl their full quota of overs.”

“Everything was going fine. Your batting shouldn’t end at No. 7. So many bowlers aren’t required. Even if they are required, whatever you do, whether you keep six or seven bowlers, your batting can’t finish at No. 7, and it did,” he again shared.

Commenting on DC’s chase in the same video, Aakash Chopra added that Pathum Nissanka’s (41 off 24) and Tristan Stubbs’ (60 off 38) stunning knocks couldn’t take them over the line as well.

“Pathum Nissanka played very well in the powerplay. He has got this nervous 40s. He got out in the 40s once again, and then wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Tristan Stubbs scored a few runs in the end for sure, but Delhi fell short. Jamie Overton, thumbs up, well done, because you need something from overseas bowlers. He bowled with good pace and bowled very good bouncers. If you have dismissed Sameer Rizvi, David Miller and Tristan Stubbs, you have taken the heart out of the opposition,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
