Samson arrived without any security and blended in comfortably with the crowd, showing a down-to-earth side as he played alongside the fans. The CSK opener even switched to batting left-handed and entertained everyone with a massive shot during the game.

Sanju Samson Wins Hearts of CSK Fans in Chennai

Sanju Samson revealed that he started receiving immense love from Chennai Super Kings fans even before playing his first match for the franchise, adding that the support has made him feel more responsible as a cricketer.

“From the moment trade rumours started and the media began linking me with CSK, I could already feel the incredible affection from the fans. Whenever I visited Chennai or met local people, they would say, ‘Sanju, please come to CSK,’” he said.

“I was just telling in a meet and greet they was asking like what do you have to say about the fans of CSK, like when you’re playing in a match for them, you don’t feel like making a mistake. You think twice before playing a shot. That’s how responsible I have become after joining CSK,” said Samson on the Super Kings podcast.

Sanju Samson has justified the trust shown in him by Chennai Super Kings with impressive performances this season. The wicketkeeper-batter is currently CSK’s leading run-scorer, amassing 430 runs in 11 matches at an average of 53.75 and a strike rate of 169.29.
